GA4-240202501-AA1-EV03. Crime and Punishment
Crime and Punishment
By reading "Crime and Punishment", I came to the conclusion that to reduce crime, the government must increase policies to support citizens. Even if there is a public authority such as the police, in a society without supportive policies there will always be crimes. I believe that crime prevention should focus on improving socioeconomic conditions, education and access to basic resources. I do not agree with the death penalty, since, in addition to not deterring crime, it perpetuates a cycle of violence and is ethically questionable. Instead of extreme punishments, we must focus on rehabilitation and addressing the root causes of crime, such as poverty and social exclusion.
